West Brom reject second Odemwingie bid from QPR

West Brom have turned down a second bid from QPR for striker Peter Odemwingie.

The 31-year-old has indicated his desire to move to Loftus Road during the current transfer window and had a transfer request rejected by Albion last Friday.

Rangers had an initial 2million bid turned down at the start of the January window, and it was confirmed by the midlands club on Monday a second offer has also been rejected.

West Brom's sporting and technical director (designate) Richard Garlick said in a statement: "QPR have made a second, improved offer for Peter, which we have turned down."

Odemwingie took to Twitter over the weekend to launch several attacks on Albion after his transfer request was rejected.

It is understood he is now facing disciplinary action as a result of his actions, although the club refused to reveal what that would entail.

Albion, who also rejected a £5million bid from QPR for defender Jonas Olsson, have already said no senior players are for sale this month.

Garlick added: "As we have repeatedly stated, we have no need or desire to sell our core players.

"Since we turned down Peter's transfer request, he has made his position clear in a statement to the media and via his personal Twitter account.

"This matter will be dealt with internally."
