Rivaldo signs up for Brazilian second division side
World Cup winner in 2002 and 1999 FIFA player of the year Rivaldo, has shown he still has unfinished business as he enters the twilight of his career by signing a new contract with Brazilian second division club Sao Caetano.
"It's a heavyweight boost that will also give our midfield a refined touch," Sao Caetano president Nairo Ferreira de Souza said.
"Rivaldo's technical qualities are fantastic and he will help the squad massively with his experience and leadership."
It is yet another chapter in a globe-trotting career that took the 40-year-old Rivaldo to Spain, Italy, Greece, Uzbekistan and Angola.
Rivaldo, who played for Barcelona and AC Milan in his heyday and will turn 41 in April, scored 34 times for Brazil in 74 international appearances and was a key member of the team that won the 2002 World Cup when they defeated Germany 2-0 in the final.
