Sevilla have revealed that agreement has been reached with Manchester City over their long-serving winger Jesus Navas.

Navas is set to leave the Spanish club after 10 seasons and take his talents to the Premier League with a City side that is expected to be coached by former Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini.

The 27-year-old, who is reportedly going to cost City £17m, has been a key part of Sevilla's side for a decade and played in their teams that won the UEFA Cup in 2006 and 2007.

Navas suffered with travel anxiety for some time, meaning he missed the chance of success with Spain, but he was part of their squad that lifted the World Cup in 2010 and Euro 2012 - he has represented his country 22 times.

He is expected to take a medical soon, and should that hurdle be jumped, will join international team-mate David Silva at the Etihad Stadium.

A statement on the Spanish club's website read: "Sevilla FC has accepted the English club's offer, taking into account the wishes of the player, who will have to pass a medical.

"Navas wants to continue his successful sporting career in English football, more precisely at a club at which he can continue to develop as a footballer, as he has publicly stated on various occasions in recent months."
