(Photo: Jerry Markland, Getty Images) Sarah Palin reacted angrily to a comment made by Michael Waltrip during Sunday's NASCAR broadcast on Fox, but her outrage is likely a case of friendly fire. As first documented by Examiner.com, two-time Daytona 500 winner Waltrip used the term "master strategery" instead of "strategist" while trying to describe Brad Keselowski's crew chief Paul Wolfe. Realizing the error, Waltrip then incorrectly associated the term with the former Alaska governor and said it was "Palin strategery." "Strategery" was first used by Will Ferrell in a Saturday Night Live sketch while poking fun at George W. Bush in 2000. While Palin also used the word in a December 2010 appearance on The O'Reilly Factor, she clearly believed Waltrip's reference to her during the NASCAR race in Las Vegas was misguided. Tweeted Palin: "Hey Waltrip, final lap & you still don't have your facts right. Get some "strategery" and check your facts before you shoot off your mouth." Hey Waltrip, final lap %26 you still don't have your facts right. Get some "strategery" and check your facts before you shoot off your mouth. — Sarah Palin (@SarahPalinUSA) March 13, 2013 Waltrip, though, isn't one of the Hollywood liberals who Palin dislikes. He's a conservative from Kentucky who has supported Republicans -- including Palin. In November, when a Twitter follower complained Waltrip was posting too many pro-Mitt Romney tweets, Waltrip told him to "unfollow then bro!" In fact, he responded to Palin's late-night tweet within minutes -- and included a picture of them together from the 2010 Daytona 500. "@sarahpalinusa you are one if my fav people on earth. twitter.com/mw55/status/31…" @sarahpalinusa you are one if my fav people on earth. twitter.com/mw55/status/31…— ; Michael Waltrip (@mw55) March 13, 2013 This all seems to be a misunderstanding. Waltrip's comment wasn't meant to be mean-spirited; it was misguided, but in reference to someone he respects. Can't we all just get along? (H/T @DiecastDude) Story Highlights
