Legends are born in March because of one play right before the clock hits zero. From Christian Laettner to Bryce Drew to Scottie Reynolds and everyone in between, USA TODAY Sports takes a look at those shots that stir up memories—the top 10 NCAA tournament buzzer beaters.

Honorable mention: While it's not quite at the buzzer, Michael Jordan's game-winning jumper gets a nod for beating the vaunted Hoyas for his first national title (1982).

No. 10: Drew Nicholas hits an improbable running three-pointer to help defending champion Maryland escape UNC Wilmington, 75-73. (2003).
